Kip Carr moderates an April 28, 2016 Candidate Conversations for the Georgia House District 62 election that takes place on May 24, 2016. Mr. Carr has more than twenty five years of extensive federal, state, and local government experience. A few of the public sector leadership positions where he has served include Executive Director of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Special Assistant to the Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox, and Legislative Analyst for Fulton County Government. In 2012, Kip ran unsuccessfully for the Georgia House of Representatives, District 62. Mr. Carr was elected to a four-year term as Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Georgia in 2015. Kip founded Carr Strategy, LLC, a full-service government relations firm, where he has served as Managing Partner since 2012.

Candidate Conversations was hosted by the Camp Creek Business Association and its President, Michael Davis. The Association provides a business and community advocacy function to facilitate the development and economic growth of the Camp Cree Parkway corridor as the premier South Fulton destination for shopping, dining, leisure, entertainment and living.

William K. Boddie, Jr.
William K. Boddie, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in South Fulton County. He graduated from Banneker High School in College Park, GA in 1995. He also graduated in 1999 from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
He received his Juris Doctor from the Mercer Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, GA in 2003. William has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 2005. He worked as an Assistant Public Defender with the Fulton County Public Defender’s Office from 2005 until 2008. He is the co-founder & managing partner of The Boddie McKnight Law Firm, LLC with offices in both Douglas County and Fulton County.

Joshua B. Butler IV
Honor, integrity, ambition, balance, and uplift. These are the principles that guide lifelong Georgia House District 62 native Joshua B. Butler, IV each day in his professional and philanthropic endeavors. Combining his keen analytical abilities, intrinsic leadership skills, trailblazing spirit, oratorical prowess, and compassionate nature, Joshua has emerged as a renaissance entrepreneur and civic inspiration in his community and to his generation. For the last four years Joshua B. Butler, IV has gained valuable experience and developed integral relationships by serving as Legislative Manager for the Honorable State Representative Dexter Sharper of House District 177. Joshua also serves on the Fulton County HIV/Aids task force; whose mission is to stop the spread of this deadly disease. He is also the vice president of the historic Williamsburg Homeowner’s Association.

Aaron Johnson
Aaron Johnson is a management analyst for Fulton County Government. Born and raised in Moultrie, Georgia, AARON is a graduate of Morris Brown College where he majored in Para-legal Studies. Professionally, AARON has worked on every level of government. In addition to working on the county level, he has served as Constituent Services Specialist for the City of Atlanta, staff assistant to former State House Government Affairs Chairman Bob Holmes, and Government Affairs Manager for the American College of Rheumatology, a national doctor’s association. Additionally, AARON worked as Finance Coordinator for the “Shirley Franklin for Mayor” campaign and later as Deputy Executive Director of the Democratic Party of GA where he also served as Special Assistant to former Governor Roy Barnes.

Rafer Johnson
Rafer is a bold, brilliant, and courageous leader with an outstanding record. He has helped thousands in his career and community as an experienced voice, advocate and a policy-making activist for#SomethingGreater. #SomethingGreater is a movement about people who believe in progress, responsive elected officials and solutions that lead us forward. Rafer’s experiences have prepared him to be at the table–influencing and directing positive decisions for our District 62 residents as rapid change happens in our area, Georgia, and around the world. #Vote4Rafer He has managed over $1.5 billion in assets and led small and large teams in his private, public, and
non-profit sector experience. His portfolio covers healthcare, transportation, housing and hospitality industries including Hotel Connections, American Foundation for the Blind and Delta Air Lines, Inc. At Delta, he currently serves in a dual role of flight attendant and elected leader for 22,000 of his fellow colleagues.
